The Artist
Contemporary Gulf artist working primarily in oil painting, mixed media, and plein-air painting. Her practice explores memory, identity, women, and Gulf heritage through a contemporary impressionistic language. She draws inspiration from everyday life, landscapes, cultural symbols, and inherited objects, using observation, expressive brushwork and material experimentation.
Based in Bahrain, Samah Ali creates works that bridge the past and present. Her practice is deeply rooted in the history of Gulf heritage, using the canvas to preserve local memory and explore the evolving roles of women in society.
Through a blend of technical precision and warm emotional resonance, her art serves as a visual narrative of identity. Each piece is an inquiry into how our surroundings and shared history shape the contemporary experience of today.
